I have a 98 Sienna and I bought an adjustable curtain rod but it wont stay secured because the trim panel isn't flat.

What's the best way to install and secure a curtain rod on a minivan?

Are you willing to make permanent alterations, or do you want to be able to remove things without leaving a trace?

Maybe you can use some Command Strips and solid backed plastic closet rod cups? It should provide enough of a lip, even at an angle, to hold your curtain rod up.

If you pop the endcaps off the rod you can always put a screw (in the reverse direction from normal) from the outside of the cup into the end of the curtain rod before attaching to the wall.

Yeah permanent alternations is fine for me. I was also thinking of drilling a hole, one on each side of the trim piece and inserting the rod ends and retract it till it stops.

If it is just slipping maybe some tacky under rug type stuff glued to the ends of your stick to make it hold better. But if it is still not up enough then maybe a half circle of something to help keep it in place. like a silicone bead or something. If instead of drilling a hole, you may find a cap thingy to insert the rod ends into and glue them to the walls. Cut a spot on the top in one for the rod to be able to go in and out of.

Using a block of wood, you can contour the side facing the uneven service, leaving a level flat surface to connect too. Permanently mount the block using a strong adhesive. Then the rod can be adjusted to fit between the two blocks and you can take it up and down as needed.

I have put in many curtain rod the best were bungee cords. Rods get bent. Bungee stretches to the perfect size. The quarter inch size at the dollar store work for years
