So I need to get a fantastic fan and vent installed on my hightop, but I have very very little experience doing such things. I'm sure I can learn how to do it with youtube videos and stuff, but I would be heartbroken if I completely screwed something up. Also, I do not own the proper tools.

How much would you pay someone else to do this? I might also try to hire someone to build my deep cycle array so I don't screw that up either.

If anyone is in or around Milwaukee and knows how to do this, let's talk.

Hi there!
I just installed my own fantastic vent. You may want to check me tread as I went over some details and took some pictures.
I was terrified of cutting into my van, but once I drilled the first hole I realized there was no turning back and in the end it wasn't that bad.

Research the proper location as far as the cross members or roof beams. How will the location you choose effect any other improvement you may make later such as solar etc. Use DICOR self leveling RV roof sealant. Forget silicone and other stuff that's used to make boats with screen doors for floors float.

i paid a guy at rv repair shop 80 bucks. He has done several for me thru the years. that is cutting hole, wiring , everything.

RV repair guys are the ones who know this stuff. It's an easy job.

If you can make it to the RTR you can probably find someone to do it for you for free. Possibly even me if I'm able to make it.

Hey Rick welcome!! We're glad you are here! I checked out your photos but in order to see them you have to be a member of the Sportsmobile forum. Would you be willing to post them here?

It's easy. Just right click on the picture at their forum and select "Copy Image URL". Then click New Reply here and at the top you will see a small icon that looks like a mountain, click on it. Then paste the Image URL into the box an it it will put the picture into your post here. You can put in as many as you want.

Again, welcome!
Bob
