I have been looking at vans for a few weeks. I've looked at class B motor homes and instantly realized they were not set up, at all, like I would prefer to live.
I just looked at two vans today. One is already a camper van but it is rough. The lady said she would sell it to me for 300 so I'm looking for a real runner of the same type and using it for a donor van/camper. It is a Dodge 350 hi top. Mid 80's. It has a full compliment of living accessories in it. It will make a perfect donor. It is rusty and beat up and hasn't been run in awhile.
I have a home and wife & kids but work on the road. I am sick to death of living in motels and eating in cafe's so I decided a van would be perfect. Last summer I bought a tent and stayed in it half the summer. A van would allow me to just a little bit more mobile. Another problem with tent living is my car is completely full of camping gear and I have to work out of it as well.

When I started all this I had no idea there was a whole culture out there formed around this type of subsistence. This is too cool!!! With all this info it will be a no brainer!

If you made it this far thanks for reading it and cheers to you!

Welcome Simran....good to have you and have fun with your new build.....
Bri

I bought a high top chevy 1 ton van last night. It is an older one but in extremely good mechanical and cosmetic condition body wise. However, most all of the appliances have been taken out. All that is left is a bed, a loo and a hotwater heater hanging on he wall. Pictures forthcoming!
