Does anyone else suffer from Bi-Vehicularality?  I am thinking about starting a support group... (Joking).  All joking aside... what prompted me to write this post is that I often see people asking questions what the "best vehicle" would be for life on the road.  This topic not only appears on the Cheapliving Forum but also on a number of other websites I frequent.  I don't think one vehicle fits all so I have 2.., one is a nice sized truck with camper and has pretty much all the facilities I need to live life on the road.  She has a toilet, shower, kitchen, bed... etc... It's small enough to go places that larger RVs cannot go.  It's 4 wheel drive and can go to some remote places 2 wheel drive vehicles cannot go but she (Big Bertha is her name) has her limitations.  For example, she is not stealth, she is more of a target for thieves than my other vehicle, and she uses more fuel.  My other vehicle is a 1993, 4 cyl, 2 wheel drive Ford Ranger that cost me 2K and for 15 dollars I bought a cap for the bed from "Slim" the junk man.  The lil-truck is called Lil-Bertha (remember I am in Kentucky and we are allowed to name sister the same name.... it's been approved by the Kentucky Naming Convention...).  The best thing about lil-Bertha is she is stealth, she looks cheap and nobody really pays attention to her.  The cap has really dark tinted windows so no one can see what's inside.  Lil-Bertha sips gas and is easy on the wallet but not as comfortable as her bigger sister (the truck camper).  So my point is, no single vehicle will  be the "best" for all situations so go with what makes you feel comfortable... go with what you can afford and just DO IT!  Hit the road and burn rubber!
