I have as others I'm sure considered purchasing some land a place where you cannot be pushed out of a place to call "my land" (we never do own land )I have however lived in a commune. If this strikes anyone as a possible venue then10 people commit $1000 each,or 20 people or 30 whatever be placed in some sort of account and a location is chosen. Get your tiny home ON. You guys in AZ,NM Ut. have for sure seen land and had this idea. I would be the first to plunk down some dough call it "cheaprvlivingland" or whatever.10 acres is a lot of land. Does this sound too "What's that guy been smokin'ish" Someone else wanna live on it charge em 50 bucks a month to pay the land taxes. I would pay 50 bucks to be left alone for a month. This ain't a bunch of hippies getting hep c from communal bathing and eating off dirty dishes. I have not thought this through to a finale.

A little harder than one might think. You can get dry sites at some RV camps for $ 80 per month or less. Lots of free dry camping. <br><br>I perfer the option of leaving the area is the natives are restless. Not many buy-in's like that. <br><br>James AKA Lynx

I'm searching for a nice wooded/secluded piece of land for myself at the moment. I've often wondered why people with a nomadic (or similar) lifestyle wouldn't get together on the purchase of property - no wait, they do! Obviously, some people walk the walk and not just talk the talk. Since you already have personal experience with communal living I guess you have walked the walk..... and I think that's really cool.<br><br>Of course, for me, it would still have to be enough property to have the privacy to be left alone when wanted/needed. &nbsp;<br>&nbsp;<br>&nbsp; .10 isn't a " lot of land" , there are what ? 42k square feet in an acres ( not quite accurate but close enough for this discussion) do the math. <br>&nbsp;<br>&nbsp; And with such an investment you better *know* all the rest of the folks involved , are you willing to pick up and leave said investment if there is one " bad apple" spoiling the bunch?

Wagoneer-<br><br>I understand the attractiveness of your idea, but I fear most people on this site won't.&nbsp; We are attracted to mobile living because it is mobile.&nbsp; We can call our own shots and follow the sun, work, events, whatever- without being tied to piece of property.<br><br>I also would fear that too many owners would have different ideas about how the property would be used.

The biggest problem would be paperwork and taxes.&nbsp; If these issues could be dealt with, I think it is a great idea.&nbsp; Especially if there were numerous parcels of land purchased in many different places.&nbsp; A core group could pool X amount of money to buy properties.&nbsp; If someone already owned land in a desirable location, maybe they could use that as part of their portion of the investment.&nbsp; Folks that didn't make the initial investments could pay a very reasonable fee to use the property and that could help pay taxes.&nbsp; <br><br>I'd recommend not to make improvements on the properties as that would raise taxes.&nbsp; A small trailer with a water haul tank at each site would be a great asset.&nbsp; Taxes on unimproved land are usually very reasonable.<br><br>I would personally enjoy having somewhere that I could do a bit of gardening during the summer months.

My 2 cents<br>&nbsp; I have let (2) different people come here to have a power &amp; me repair their vehicles---hell I couldn't even get a (thanks) much less help me do something. come to the house eat,,zip gone back to their van no help--(can I do the dishes at least NEVER HAPPEN&nbsp stay up all night on his computer to tired in the day to help me. <br>&nbsp;&nbsp;a group will fight over who used the most electricity,( and I'm not paying THAT.!!! then the (1) [leader]will be stuck with the whole bill. &nbsp;<br>well if you might be able to do that 's that's fine. my place is NOT a desert, I've been here 29 years--it may not be a resort RV park. but you don't come here to trash my place..<br>yep i'm&nbsp; venting, you want to live like a pig===go elsewhere. <br>sparky1

I dunno, seems like a recipe for disputes later on.&nbsp; I mean, you put your money in and then what?&nbsp; Whose name does the land actually go in, and who is legally responsible for the taxes?&nbsp;&nbsp; Would you buy a large plot of land then deed parcels out to the investors?

Well we could have little 'Honeys Parks' all over, and I'm ok with you using the name. <img src="/images/boards/smilies/cool.gif" class="emoticon bbc_img">&nbsp; But in truth buying land side by side is an option, and combining/using as a communal park but, purchasing acreage and then selling mini plots within it leads to all sorts of planning &amp; zoning issues subdividing, and legal hassles this way could kill the idea.&nbsp; btw: from past life experience, I hate planning and zoning...

i think buying the land together would be too complicated it would be cool if i had a piece of land say maine and two knives kate had land in arizona&nbsp; and would let other people visit so it could be shared but no legal issues
