Hi I am Jose and I am pretty new to this awesome community. I am a young travel nurse that has been more and more inspired by watching people like you through CRVL. I’m from Colorado, and am taking my first steps into travel nursing.
I have dreams of starting this minimalist mobile lifestyle that would go hand-in-hand with travel nursing. Right now I’m working in LA, living in an apartment, with roommates and don’t have a bad living situation, but I think it would be wiser and more suitable for me to invest in some kind of mobile home for my work travels and adventures of course.
So right now I’m broke due to some current life factors (California mostly), but I’m starting a new job soon, and plan to save up so I can have an action plan.
I’m excited to see what ill learn from people here, and hoping to build an idea of what may work for me. Right now I have a 08 Tacoma 4x4 with a toe capacity of 3500lb that I plan to use in the future. Love my truck and plan to use it to start with.
Some questions:
At first I was considering a four-wheel-pop-up-camper that you mount on the bed. They are fancy but very expensive and may be hard to transition to full-timing if needed. I also like the idea of detaching from my mobile home, so I’m starting to think that a pull trailer may be better.
Yesterday I spent a reasonable amount of time looking at T@B trailers, fancy compact and cool, but that price tag. Think it’s worth saving up for?
Also are there any good sites you recommend where one can rent? I think that’s a good way to test-drive some of these ideas.
