I have been watching videos by Bob for a couple of years, as well as others that have posted similar content. I finally decided to sign up here and move towards living the nomadic lifestyle.

All of my life I have taken care of others and I am now 49 years old and decided to take care of me. I sold one of my motorcycles in 2016 and purchased the ARE MX topper for my regular cab 2013 Silverado 1500 4x4. I did this in preparation for a trip out west after moving our store to our new partner's house, so that he could handle inventory management and shipping. I really enjoyed the month that I spent out west before heading back to Georgia.

I delayed going whole hog on the idea, but it has really been on me lately. While I was younger, I really enjoyed traveling when I would find myself in other countries while serving in the Army, and being outside is where I am happiest.

I had to sell my dual sport motorcycle last spring due to the worsening of my nerve and spinal issues (from my military service). I have purchased an HD Sporster for its lower seat height and i have set it up for mild forest service road access, including finding spark arrestors for the new pipes. I will take off on some camping trips to try it out and minimize the "stuff" that I take. That should segue into either setting up the truck/topper with a livable solution or obtaining a cargo trailer for a build-out.

I recently shopped around for travel trailers and toy haulers that could be towed with my 1/2 ton, but I was not impressed with their build quality or add-ons out-the-door, that would amount to up to 30% additional costs, above the sticker price. This led me to cargo trailers and the decision to join this site.

I look forward to learning more.

Hi Woody and welcome. Great into! Best of luck with everything.

Welcome from California (at the moment)! Hope you post pics of your build out of the cargo trailer. I'm about 25% into my build and am always looking for ideas to steal! :D

Best of luck to you, Bruh!

Welcome to the forum, it's good to have you join us.

Welcome to the forum. Lots of great information on cargo van mods in here. I miss boiled peanuts and when I mention them here in Missouri they look at me like I'm speaking a foreign language.

Welcome to CRVL! Thank you for your service and sacrifice!

I love my canopy set up, but is definitely not stealthy. If you can handle my ugly mug my setup is at the end of this video.
