Sorry if this has been asked a million times.

I've got a brand new cargo trailer that I have not yet started to customize.  I have to be out of my apartment tomorrow and will be checking into a KOA.   I will have access to shore power... it was about 20 degrees this morning.

Can I get a pointer or suggestion on how to pass an extension cord through the bulkhead of the trailer... safely?  I was thinking I would just drill a hole big enough for a heavy-duty shop extension cord and cover the hold with butyl and caulk it...

Is there a better, easier way someone would like to share?

Thanks in advance,

Pat

Go through the floor, that way water can't get in
Use a rubber grommet
likely someone else will correct me

Easier, better is to install a proper inlet.

Depending on your intended electrical needs, either a 15Amp or a 30 Amp inlet fixture can be bought from either Amazon or a local RV dealer (since you're in a hurry for it).

Here's the one I'm using:

I use Marinco 'Onboard Charger Inlet' for my van because I only needed a standard 15 amp connection. It is wired to a circuit breaker box in my electrical cabinet and allows me to plug in an extension cord from either shore power or the portable generator.

Well, now I know what to call those fool things, lol, might be able to find them now
