Sadly, will be selling Van Halen.

Have no idea how much to ask for her.   So, could you good people give me an idea??

1996 Ford E-150, 129k miles, V8 5.8l motor, runs great, have replaced hoses, belts, plugs, radiator and has new tranny still under warranty.  Gutted with full size bed across back.  Dark tinted.  Good tires and new spare on rim.  Clear title and tags good til 03/2017.

In the past year and half have taken it many different states.  She's never failed me.

It has it's issues, like many her age.  For example, if you overfill the gas tank it will leak at the top, I just worked with it by not filling the tank.  The A/C leaks out, even though I've had it in the shop twice with them unable to find it and saying it holds a charge, I just recharge it myself.

Of course I won't get what I have bought it for and put into it back.  But wonder what you good people think I could ask and get for her.

Thanks!!

If it looks good in pictures and you emphasize the new tranny, I'd try $5,000 obo...

Why are you selling?

I paid 4200 for my van. She's the same except a 97 with 117,000 miles at the time. She was very well maintaine and came with all kinds of replaced parts.

$5000 is a good place to start. gives you some wiggle room.

Good luck with the sale!
So , I just gotta ask................if you get another one , will it be named Van Hagar ?????

I know this was a hard decision Pammy. Sending vibes for a good buyer who will love Van Halen as much as you.

Thanks for the advice! :)

Will start at 5k then, sounds good.

Selling due to having more vehicles than I need, at the moment. Practicality dictates to keep the better on gas smaller vehicle. Less insurance and maintenance if I cut down to one vehicle, and I can still take a trip and camp out in my car.

As of now, I'm needing to hunker down and replace the fundage, lol. This cheapo paid-for place will be my home base, so don't need to keep the van as my 'will always have a place to live' security blanket.

I have contemplated trading the car later for a minivan so I can have the best of both. And yes, Van Hagar is a great name!!! haha

Pics once I finish cleaner her out and wash her. :D

Mid 90's vehicles had issues with ac refrigerant leaking out. They learned that the gas molecules in R134a were smaller than the rubber, so they leaked out over time. They fixed it using barrier hoses. I'd bet if you put duracool or freeze 12 in it, it would not leak out. I know this does not answer your question, but may help you sell it for more if the AC works better.
