How much room do I gain by tearing the interior walls out of my van?

2002 Dodge B3500 passenger van ........ I need 3 more inches in my side to side width below the windows ........ can I gain this much by tearing out the interior walls from the floor to the windows?

You could always install a weather tight lockable cargo door on the side and make a weather proof drawer type slide out, especially if it is for your feet while sleeping.
