Where are you all going? I wish I could travel. But not this year. it looks like a good setup. Happy Trails!

I wish you the best wishes for a wonderful journey!

I do wonder about those shelf units staying upright while traveling?

I at one point camped in my VW type 3 Square back...... It worked, we were newlyweds but it was not at all spacious!

Yeah I know..I did bungee them in but I guess I'll see if they hold! If not I'll try something else.

A suggestion if I may?

Those plastic drawer units have their place for sure, but inside of a crv with extremely limited space?
Maybe Not so much........

I've been a VW Westfalia camper for years.

The ultimate answer to packing is to get a quantity of
Mountainsmith cubes.

Here's a link to them in a Vanagon forum......

I cannot praise them enough!
They bulge when full, they compress as they empty. You can get them insulated and water proof.

They are nice enough to carry into a hotel yet they squish into available spaces.

Take a look, yes you need a few $$'s to get them but you can often get seconds at a very reasonable cost....... as I did.

The drawer units just scream trouble and they are space hogs that never change their size as the trip progresses.

Is that 'bed' on the floor? If so, it's just about the worst use of space there is. Raise it with a simple platform made from 2x2s and put some of your stuff under it.

Wow, and I thought my Transit Connect was tiny inside!  (I feel much better now).   :p

I like your little fold-down table on the rear door.  I'm putting something similar together for the rear doors of my van, to replace the single, long table that now spans both doors.

Some good advice here.  Elevating the bed up, even just a few inches, is a great way to open up more storage room without losing headroom on the bed.

You have really made use of most all the "wall" space with those organizer pockets. Good job to keep things off the floor.

I'm not sure I agree with some of the other comments. Yes, the plastic drawers take up non-collapsible space. BUT, they allow you to use vertical space. I don't think fabric cubes would stay stacked and you'd always have to be juggling them. So the drawer units give you use of vertical space that would otherwise not be usable. A trade off I guess.

A bed platform is almost always a good idea, BUT if having it on the floor is the only way to have space to sit upright for things like changing clothes, then you may find it best to leave it on the floor.

Love your go-and-do-it spirit! Keep us posted.

We had it up on a platform first. I hated it. I couldn't sit up..so I lowered it. Like it much better now! I don't have much stuff anyways.

I totally agree with you. I had it elevated but I didn't like feeling cramped not being able to even move at all. I have plentyof space this way and like it much better lower to the ground!

What is important is that YOU are happy with your choices.

But....
Just curious

In the Initial post you use plural personal pronouns and in later posts, you use singular personal pronouns.

Traveling by yourself vs with a 2nd person can change things dramatically.

Well, if you're newlyweds, would you necessarily be concerned about spacious?
