the comments are interesting. There are programs like this in lots of areas doing similar programs, including on the Kensi pennusula in Alaska. The one i looked into one that offered 20 ac and enough lumber to build a cabin . You had to stay on the oroperty for 10 years. Comming from Ny where the taxs on an unfinished house on one acre were $3000 last year, and i know Jersy and cali are much higher, $1500 isnt that bad, but heating costs would be quite high.
