We had a plane leave Indiana & filed a flight plan for macinac Island but never arrived so our local Cival Air Patrol all fly up to help. The plane had gotten there, never landed or closed the flight plan. They tuurned around & headed home & ran out of fuel about 10 miles north of me south of Van Buren fair grounds. It's a very knarly swamp you can't walk thru but the pilot set up for a fiels just past the tangled swamp but the passenger grabbed the yoke & turned the plane 90 deg with the wins vertical & one wing hit & they ended up in the swamp. The ELT didn't go off which they didn't know, the pilot has broken leg(s) so the passenger said he'd go for help but died just on the other side of the plane & the pilot didn't know it. He spent 5 days chewing on his boot leather & recycling his urine before a plane spotted them. The resue party had to chainsaw their way in & as soon as someone youched the plane the ELT went off.

I've heard that the Romans brushed their teeth with it.

Serious. No joke.

Here I am just loading up my Super Soaker for the weekly water fights. Also, cackling like a 12 year old because no one knows I'm not using water.

I am assuming you meant sterile? well that's actually an old wives tale. look it up. highdesertranger

I think if it was sterile there would be such a thing as a UTI (urinary tract infection).

It's now debatable unless you have a UTI then it's not. But doctors said it was for years so it may or not be true & I'm sure depends on the person. I'm not taking the chance.

Is it a good idea to drink urine when water is scarce?

May 21, 2008 - A healthy person's urine is about 95 percent water and sterile, so in the short term it's safe to drink and does replenish lost water. But the other 5 ...

I have heard that urine is sterile, how can this be? Surely urine, along ...

Urine is normally sterile when produced in the kidney and stored in the bladder, but is likely to become non-sterile as it leaves the body. Urine is non-toxic, although it contains urea and other substances which can be toxic if they are not excreted and reach high concentrations in the body.

A urine culture is a test to find germs (such as bacteria) in the urine that can cause an infection. Urine in the bladder is normally sterile. This means it does not contain any bacteria or other organisms (such as fungi). But bacteria can enter the urethra and cause a urinary tract infection (UTI).

You can drink your urine in an emergency situation. However, I don't ever want to have to do it lol.

High status Chinese ladies used baby's urine to brush their teeth and freshen the breath.   Long time ago though.

They used baby's urine because urine is sterile in the bladder but may pick up bacteria on the way out through the urethra.   Babies were much less likely to have a UTI, so......
