Hi new member here. Plenty of experience in the van life (hippie days back in the 60's).
Based in Phoenix Arizona but traveling the high country almost every weekend in the summer.

Hi Alcatraz and welcome to the forum! Hope to hear some "Hippy Daze" stories from ya. Also van related stories because some of those are just as funny. Love the username, on a side note, my heart is in alcatraz...lol nah but it sounded funny in my head. Keep on keepin' on!

Welcome to the CRVL Forum   :)

I'd like to hear some of those 60's stories myself.  That must have been one hellava party back then.
Glad to have you aboard to serve as an inspiration !

Welcome to the CRVL forums, alcatraz! Do you head for the White Mountains? Flagstaff? Or?

To help you learn the ins and outs of these forums, this "Tips & Tricks" post lists some helpful information to get you started. We look forward to hearing more from you.

Thank's all for the welcome.
All of the above also Prescott , Safford , Alpine and a lot of New Mexico trips.
I usually lick my finger to see which way the wind is blowing and head to the cooler high country.
Never really matters which way the wind is blowing, just an old ritual I have.

Welcome Alcatraz!  What are you traveling in, or did I miss that...

One thing that's really nice about this forum is that there's no one type of vehicle that everyone uses or wants. Currently I have been using (part time/weekends/trips) a Prius but its not anything like some others who actually (Suzanne for example) make them work F/T.

Either way, hope that you learn a lot and enjoy the voyage.

(Amazing how many of us 60+ who remember the 60's there are on the forum...)  :D

I'm a denizen of the four corners, the nether regions of Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, and Colorado. There are oodles of awesome spots, some worthy of being public, some worthy of being secret. Hopefully I will run into you in one or the other.

Currently a 1994 Ford high top conversion van, mint shape one previous owner.
Also own a 1999 Ford ranger (running around town)
A 2008 Trailblazer (I love it.  I can camp out of it,  just would not want to try living in it.)
A 1998 Mustang GT convertible

I run that area every once in a while.  I last pass through there while on my way to Trinidad, Colorado about 3 years ago.
Have some Native American former workmates and  friends that come from around  that area.
Most are Navajo.
