I have a 1978 VW Riviera campmobile which I have owned since 1981. Many times through the decades it has been my full time shelter. I am a long-time resident of Bellingham Wa. In years past I made long trips around the states and a few trips to the Southwest.
I am a 38 year veteran of Alaska commercial fisheries and years of oil refinery work as well. I am 64 years old.
I am thoroughly enjoying cheaprvliving and hugely grateful for Bob's prodigious efforts. I am studying to upgrade systems in my old bus and would like some feedback for some ideas. In particular, I would like to design a smaller BTU heating system, smaller than the Buddy and little Buddy. My solar panel quit and my refrigerator is dinosaur era, the original Mobilair. I just put block ice in lately. I have a 2 battery system, a deep cycle lead acid charged via Blue Sea Systems isolator, not a relay which would be better.
Years ago I had an alarm system from Radio Shack which could notify me from quite some distance if anyone got into my van. I would like to explore ideas on how to replicate such a system. So hi y'all, I'm glad I found the forum.
