Am new to forum and am taking baby steps to become a part of the nomad existence. Have decided to start looking for a van, mini-van, cargo or transit to go part or full time with a base residence. Am alone, and in my 70's so I'll probably be a slow learner. Have enjoyed Bob's videos for several years on YouTube, but only learned of forum a couple of days ago. Spent a lot of my life teaching on Navajo Reservation and camped when children were young. My years on the Rez taught me how to butcher a sheep, roast mutton over an open fire and make frybread for a crowd. Look forward to meeting all of you.

Welcome Sue to the CRVL forums! To help you learn the ins and outs of these forums, this "Tips, Tricks and Rules" post lists some helpful information to get you started.

Most of our rules boil down to two simple over-riding principles: 1) What you post should provide good information (like your introductory post), and 2) Any response to someone else's post should make them feel glad they are part of this forum community.

We look forward to hearing more from you.

Hi Sue... my daughter went to Dine College on the Navajo Reservation... at Tsaile. Is that anywhere near where you taught?

Welcome to the forum..

7 of my 30 years on the Rez were in Tsaile. Dine College cafeteria was our restaurant. Used to have a beautiful waterfall at Tsaile Lake, but the drought had dried up the above ground flow into Chinle Wash the last few times I was there. Was the experience for your daughter educational?

Hello,

You are not alone anymore. There are thousands of us waiting to help you, just ask. Instead of being the teacher you are now the student. It does not matter how quickly you learn, since if the student does not learn it is not the students fault but the teacher. Here you have hundreds of teachers. There will be someone who will fit perfectly for you to learn at your speed.

Be certain to read the women's section covering all those things woman worry about.

Welcome to you.

My daughter loved her time at Dine College, living in the dorms. After that she moved to Georgia and worked while taking classes at night. She got a masters degree in IT a few years ago.
