I'm not a fan of torturing pets with costumes, but some pets seem okay with it, so who am I to argue? On her very first Halloween, Bella decided to go as a Black Lab.

Tammi, putting clothing on pets and even costumes is not TORTURE! If humanizing your pet makes you bond better, I wouldn't care if they dyed them pink and shaved them butt backwards.

I would say if the worst thing you ever did to your pet was dress them up to be the center of attention then that is one lucky pet...

Personally I enjoy it if for no other reason than to get a good laugh ...

Jeezus. I was kidding. I know that Steve likes to dress up his Beagle, and was teasing. On the other hand, trying to put a cap on my dog for her obedience school graduation photo really freaked her out , so we let it go. There are other rescue pets with similar phobias, and for them it is torture.

Although I like a lot of people on this forum, walking on eggshells in order to avoid hostile responses is sure getting old.

Tammi to use the word torture is a tad bit extreme, I modified my first post as my response was also a tad bit extreme. Yup some pets don't like it, but it it not the worst that can happen to them, and it is funny watching a cat in a sweater fall over, Or a dog in boots for the first time.

One thing I keep forgetting when I post is to keep in check my point of view to a civil level...suggestion to your first post might be, although not my cup of tea, sounds kinder and less offensive than to say a person who dresses their pet up is torturing it.... I have done competition grooming for years and had people similar to your point of view felt it was cruel....

My toy poodle Cricket has 4 pretty little dresses. I dress her better than myself. Her cloths are from nice places. Mine are from thrift stores.

Every time I think about putting a dress on one of mine, I am reminded that they know where I sleep.

Actually, at the local Death Star (Walmart). It was the only size they had and it came in a two pack, you buy disposable liners with it. However, many injured and rescue animals use cloth diapers, here's some helpful info:

Amazon!
