I send the link to a friend that rents out vehicles to movie studios.
He said it did not look realistic enough for a movie.
Go figure lol.

There was a similar one for sale back east when I was van shopping. It was tempting.

1991 would most likely be a 5.8L (351).

Makes me wonder what a 2017 surveillance van looks like with today's technology. Do they still make them or is it all done by air now????

No, now they use microwaves and televisions  :p

Love the van, tho

What's the value of the Quigley conversion itself? FWIW, with Smartphones, as well as microwaves and televisions, they need very little else these days.

On a tangent; I will admit to occasionally amusing myself when i was on the road previously by naming my wifi hotspot, "FBI Surveillance Van #8" --- only got called on it (or heard comments) twice.

Super-cool van, but I'd invest $0 in the back-story or mileage.  I went to look at "No-Place" as a 43K original-mile van because the odometer didn't read over 100K:

I though, 'If this guy's gonna make jokes, they should at least be funny.'  :dodgy:

On the one posted, I wonder if the guy was sitting it when it got that nasty ding. 17K on a '91 makes no reliability difference contrasted to say 117K miles since maintenance costs would be about the same at that age anyway, (and has no affect on the dent in the front bumper) but I think it maybe in nice enough condition for the seller to try & say it has only 17K.  I know, I sound like a ray of sun-shine here, but seriously, that van appears to be in great condition, and I could see it playing in the $10K ball-park just based on what it is:  A very nice Quigley in very nice condition.

I've seen other spook vans for sale, and they put antennas in PVC Pipes on top of roof-mounted ladder racks.  That dead-bolt on the front(?) door and cross-bar on the rear looks like it makes the van pretty secure - I may have just found some inspiration for use on my build.

Good stuff.  Cotton

A Quigley! It it was anything but a Ford I'd be in love.

Any use for the spook van equipment or does that just get torn out??

Wow, just sold for $13,877.  I quickly grew fond of this unit since it's an example of what (I would assume) the gov't would consider the ultimate capable stealth van.  The equipment inside is undoubtedly out-dated & useless, but it's rare to see a 4x4 van that hasn't been lifted & wheels/tires added - it's refreshingly stock, and the rear cabin is ripe for a build-out once you get rid of the stalker equipment.  Very nice van in-deed.  Cotton

I'll bet if you mounted a massive array of different antenna types on a plain looking cargo van, complete with a rotating satellite dish, bullet cameras,  and a periscope looking gadget, you could stealth park anywhere you wanted, and nobody would dare come knock on your door to tell you to leave.
