As I thin out my unneeded belongings, I've been trading work for stuff. I'm still recovering from the bacterial infection I got from the tick bite earlier this year, and can't install the hitch on my van myself. Even typing goes slow, no strength in my hands & arms. I'm doing therapy for them though.
Maz, one of the guys who rents part of my building here in McPherson, rebuilds cars & trucks from the ground up. His fees are usually between $75 & $100 Grand, he does show quality work. He's been using my ladders and power washer so long I told him if he put my hitch on for me, he could keep all the stuff. He's working on it now.

I have one more giant load to come from my recently sold house in Cheney, and I need a trailer to get it all in one load. I need to be out by Monday.

Things are coming together, I plan on being at the RTR in  Jan. and full time sometime next spring. I don't know about everyone else, but I'm really happy to be getting rid of all my JUNK and preparing for a new life.

Less than 30 minutes, it's on!! I'm starting on the wiring now... WOO HOO!!

FYI - My 06 G2500 Savana, you can't just tag into the stop/turn/tail light wires. The prefabbed trailer wire setups come with a red power wire that has to run all the way to the battery so you don't screw up the body computer. I'm glad I researched first, because I was all ready to just attach to existing wiring like I've done so many times before.

Had a CLASS Three hitch installed on my 2005 Grand Caravan when I bought it. Bought it online, but installation required inserting two tabs between frame and rear spring mounts, not for the backyard DIYer. Took itbto a buddy's friend, a pro mechanic. He had trouble, seems the hitch tabs didn't quite fit. He had trouble with the light wiring too. Newer vehicles use the CANN BUSS system, which cannot simply be plugged into.
Ended up going to a Truck Accessories shop, and they did it right. Those illfitting tabs? A couple whacks with a hammer, they slid right in! It pays to go to the guy who really knows what he's doing.

LeeRevell - The hitch for my 2004 Astro was like yours. It took me and my mechanic buddy nearly 3 hours to install. It came with these 2 long wire things, with what looked like a spring on the end, it was for pulling the bolts through the hitch pipe and into the proper hole. It ended up a very secure hitch, but really complicated. I am really happy with this one.

My new hitch came from etrailer.com and cost $124 with free shipping.

Yep, mine was E-trailer too. About $150, IIRC.
As my minivan sits so low, I use a drop-down ball mount upside down so it raises the ball several inches. That keeps my trailer tounge level.
