Getting a Nevada DL without emissions test?

Hello,

I am planning to get my Nevada residency. It has been advised not to get your license in Reno or Las Vegas counties due to emission tests. 

My question is if I am using a reno or Las vegas address for my drivers license do I need to get the license in that specific county or can I go to a non emission testing county and get it there?

If it's like here you get your DL in the county you reside in.

Yep. From what I remember from getting my license in NV....they assume you have your vehicle mostly in your county of residence. And Clark County (Vegas) and whatever the Reno county is.. those are the two populace counties and you must do emissions unless (I think) you are in a far=flung portion of Clark County like Mesquite. Check the official DMV website for NV.

Hi BenDwel,

You seem to be using the word "license" to mean too many things in your OP.  Maybe you could get more helpful answers if you changed one of those to "registration" or "tags" or something.  Or maybe I just need to read it a few more times.
