Hello everyone,

I just bought a 2016 Prius with the hope of moving into it in the future.  I have about four months left on my apartment lease to do some test runs, get my mail forwarding set up, etc. once I move out of my apartment, I will probably keep some items in storage and continue working in town for a while to bank some cash before I begin traveling full time.

And if it turns out that I'm too much of a wimp to live in a car long term, well... Then I have a really fuel efficient daily driver   ;)

Either way, this community and Bob's videos have been very helpful to me.  I've gotten many ideas about how to live more efficiently, and self-sufficiently.  So thanks very much to everyone who contributes to this community.

I welcome any suggestions you may have for turning the Prius into a great home.

Welcome aboard Bill !
Lots of Prius dwellers here.

Welcome from one of the Prius dwellers. Glad to have you here! And congrats on your new Prius. Is it the classic liftback Prius, or one of the newer versions like the V? Would love to see some pics of your set up when you are ready to share.

If at all possible, I highly recommend attending next January's RTR in Quartzsite. It's a great place to connect with and learn from other vehicle dwellers. There were even 4 of us Prius dwellers there this past January!

Suanne, it's the normal liftback, but this is a new model year for the Prius (not the v or c). Supposedly it's a couple of inches longer and has a better driving feel. I can't really comment on that though. My experience with the earlier models is very limited.

Welcome to the tribe.
A friend of mine used to stealth camp in his car, right in the middle of everybody.
He used a car cover, (the kind you use to protect the paint on a car). He would park and leave one window down. Put the cover on and walk away. He would return when he thought nobody was looking and get under the cover and jump in through the window. He said If anybody did see him, they would think he forgot something and was too lazy to take the cover off. On cool nights you could not see the fogged up windows. He spray painted the licence number on the cover so people would not want to steal it.
He worked part time as a magician. The art of illusion.
