Discovering how many state campgrounds allow tent camping in Oregon was an eye opener (895 - excluding private RV parks). Utah has their campgrounds (610 - including private RV parks), many are fee based as with Oregon. So having nothing else to do today what with the rain I filtered the Oregon campgrounds site additionally for 'free' only. I came up with 130 campgrounds that don't have a fee. Even if I only camp during May 1st - Oct 31st & spend 4 nights a week camping I figure I could cruise around the highways & byways & need to find a different parking spot for 96 nights. Some will be too rustic for even my tastes but if 70% are acceptable I'm home free. No 'stealth', casino, road side or rest area exposure.
