Good questions Annie,<br><br>Soon to be new to van dwelling myself.<br><br>&nbsp;I'm used to walking and bike riding and&nbsp; stealth camping in fields and along rivers and such. I was never&nbsp; to worried about food because a town was usually only 20 miles away. I have been thinking about the same things, how much food, water etc to have available when boondocking. I'm looking to stock up on lots of basics (dry food stuffs) and lots of herbs and spices to add variety to it. I'm not sure how much is the right amount.<br><br>for Clothes I always tended to have a variety for layering, more for cold and less for hot. With a backpack it usually means just having 1 of something other than socks. always lots of socks. lol Having a van for me means I will be able to have 2 of stuff. <img src="/images/boards/smilies/smile.gif" border="0" align="absmiddle"><br><br>

<p style="margin: 0px;">Skooky</p><p style="margin: 0px;">&nbsp;</p><p style="margin: 0px;">Thank you.</p><p style="margin: 0px;">&nbsp;</p><p style="margin: 0px;">Off-grid I had to have at least 3 wks clothes(sweats_)</p><p style="margin: 0px;">And lots of socks--found in the cold--feet did better</p><p style="margin: 0px;">with a change of socks.</p><p style="margin: 0px;">&nbsp;</p><p style="margin: 0px;">Sleeping bag w/blankets on top--kept me warm.</p><p style="margin: 0px;">&nbsp;</p><p style="margin: 0px;">I have to rethink my needs---I will have to pare</p><p style="margin: 0px;">my thinking .</p><p style="margin: 0px;">&nbsp;</p><p style="margin: 0px;">I have had to besure food needs were met--as for a long time I didnt have transportation.</p><p style="margin: 0px;">&nbsp;</p><p style="margin: 0px;">And yes--LOL noddles taste better w/a little seasoning--good idea.</p><p style="margin: 0px;">&nbsp;</p><p style="margin: 0px;">Appreciate your ideas--annie</p><p style="margin: 0px;">&nbsp;</p><p style="margin: 0px;">&nbsp;</p>

<p style="margin: 0px;">After visiting here--and reading about the different ways to live</p><p style="margin: 0px;">I think a pull-behind would be a pain--But also looking at the low clerance</p><p style="margin: 0px;">of some of the vans makes me wonder also--Sooo I need to look at the rest </p><p style="margin: 0px;">of the rv-living sites here.</p><p style="margin: 0px;">&nbsp;</p><p style="margin: 0px;">At least I reconize my problem.</p><p style="margin: 0px;">My truck is not strong enough for a ssssslide-in camper--tough V6 but doubt</p><p style="margin: 0px;">the long lasting affects on that kinda of load.</p><p style="margin: 0px;">&nbsp;</p><p style="margin: 0px;">I am thinking V84x4 maybe 3/4 ton or a box type van.</p><p style="margin: 0px;">&nbsp;</p><p style="margin: 0px;">Now I gotta really think---huh?</p><p style="margin: 0px;">&nbsp;</p><p style="margin: 0px;">annie</p><p style="margin: 0px;">&nbsp;</p>
