My dad gave me a copy of that book when I bought my first house. I believe I still have my near perfect copy stored in a box. I did use it more than once for sure.

nail scraper?
Like a roofing nail shovel, perhaps.

That is an upholstery tool . It is used for stripping covers from furniture.

wow guy I had no idea how much those are worth. I have a couple, got to look into those some more. highdesertranger

Good Gravy Man! I saw a wooden box with 4 or 5 of those under a table at a yard sale a while back for $5 for the box, I never even thought about resale on them, I just couldn't figure out a use for them for myself. I did get a great old block & tackle at the same sale for $5 though. I knew I could get some good use out of that.

that my dear is an ice pick for turning big ice blocks into drinking glass size nuggets. /bar tool

As they say, this is the time of year for buying heaters and jackets.

Today I got a Desert Camo Military Gore-Tex jacket, near new condition for $10. Also got a Mr Heater Portable Buddy, 10' hose and empty #20 tank for $20.

Got this impact wrench for $250, real nice condition. Will go on eBay.

Found a DVD I've been looking for forever, $2, "Harold and Maude".

Jeez man! What size is that? 1 1/2" drive??? Don't think I have ever seen one that big. Makes that beer can look like a pony...

gsfish that's one hell of an impact wrench, makes my 3/4" look like a toy. I wonder what's the story behind it? how did it end up in a thrift store. highdeserranger

I have some friends that run a big truck repair shop , lots of those 1 1/2" impacts laying around.

Those Mtn Directories have different covers than the ones I've been using for over 15 years , wonder if there is any extra info in them............Anyone know if any mountains are growing up ??? ;)

In spite of the bad weather I went to the flea market this morning. There were very few vendors as expected and a friend that I was walking with suddenly grabbed something out of a pile on a table only to be disappointed. He had thought it was a can opener and put it back. It looked like an electrical crimper of some kind to me and on closer inspection I found it to be something that I was actually looking for, a new Anderson Powerpole crimper (clone). Five bucks later I was the proud new owner.

I have found some great books. I have a first edition of an old art/poetry book I got for 5.00 and now the people asking me for it are up to 200.00 I figure if they really want it that bad then I should just hang on to it cause I LIKE it myself.

Found my favorite cook book for .50 and use it all the time. Today I will use it for pie filling recipes.

Went to get some old books that I could cut up to make/experiment with some art ideas suggested to me. One of the books I got for .50 cents or so I looked up and found because it is a first edition it is valued at over 600.00 have not sold it yet until but as soon as the book dealer shop is open again for in person buying I will sell it. Lesson learned before chopping up an old book look it up.

I found a couple yards of silk velvet for pennies on the dollar once. That was a great find. The dress I made turned out so pretty, not that I would wear it now.

We always look at the thrift store first for anything we are looking for

Uncle Billy's Man Cave was having a roadside sale so I stopped to look. There was a jumble of cheap looking flashlights and I had a thought "I wonder if there might be a StreamLight in there somewhere" . Unbelievably there was. It was a 4AA, rated Division 2 Intrinsically safe. $44 on Amazon, I paid $1.

From there I went to the St. Vincent DePaul Thrift Store a mile down the road for "Thank You Thursday". Sporting goods were 75% off and I picked up this Park PRS-4 Bicycle Repair Stand. The marked price was $10 so I got it for $2.50 and tax. $296 on Amazon. Just over a penny on the dollar.
