Festivals and events finders

Would anyone care to share their sources of events and festivals? I like to visit them along my journeys and even have them as end points. The more of them I can put on my calendar the better.

i used festivals.net years ago to find craft fairs, took some time to find worthwhile events that suited me. 
a quick scan of the current site shows they have improved navigation and organization of info.

i found more reliable contacts by skimming listing for email address and writing directly to event poster, if you are looking to participate beyond simply attending
