yea,i wouldnt want no part of a 4x4 conversion,if i had a classic 40's 50's truck i would go body swap, limited slip/locker and good tires would be darn near as good as 4wd or 3wd for us with open diffs

Love that rig. My uncle had that exact same pick up, same year, same color when I was growing up. Me, my brothers and cousins would all ride in the back of it, back when you could still do that sort of thing.

As far as everyone saying not to convert it, wouldn't a 4x4 conversion on that be somewhat easy if you found factory 4x4 parts to throw in there? Not like it's a van that never had the 4x4 option. Plus if you converted a van this should be a cake walk.

yes easy if you do a frame down conversion. if you consider that easy. it's much less of a headache just to buy a 4x4. highdesertranger

Yeah. a 4x4 conversion would be super easy on the F350 compared to converting a van to 4x4. No cutting/welding/fabricating. Just buy a like year F350 4x4 with a blown engine, remove cab and bed, clean up frame with new bushings everywhere, and plop on great condition existing 2wd cab/bed. project done..

Sold the old Pilgrim camper a week back after a ton of work to it. Just bought a 1991 Lance 10.9. She's loving the bathroom!.. :-D Its a GOOD FREAKING THING we bought an F350! Its also a good thing that F350 came with overload springs and thick thick rear sway bar!

BTW... In case your wondering. We are abandoning the 4x4 conversion how that we she has the Lance. Its just SO freaking heavy a 4x4 conversion would do nothing but burn more gas.

I have to say you sound like a thoughtful partner.

Gotta say.. The key to a girl's heart while living in a van/RV/Camper?

A bathroom. She ain't gotta take long hot baths, or a nice long hot showers... Just a pee at 2AM while in a Walmart parking lot..
