If you are trying to pinch pennies before a camphost job this summer maybe try volunteering on a farm or with a help exchange program. Usually they provide meals and a free place to camp or other accommodations in exchange for your skills/ labor. Here are the ones I have tried:

There is a fee for joining but the experiences are priceless. I found a farm that wants me back and will let me park my van for a month, work on creative projects and spend zero dollars of my own money!
