 Hi All, wondering if AZ has a similar type way as Parhump, NV to establish residence/intention to domicile??  I am aware Parker, AZ has a mail forwarder service, but I'm seeking residence/domicile. Please no definition of these 2 terms as I've read it in the " Escspees" website.
Your knowledge & wisdom are deeply appreciated.

As I recall Nv. asks for proof you are staying in Nv. I gave a receipt for an rv park and was accepted. My vehicle had to have the id number verified while I was at dmv and walked out with license and plates. When I registered in Az. they asked for nothing. That has changed with the new conforming laws. Every state is going to ask you to prove you live there now.

Real ID License or ID Card

A license, permit or ID issued in compliance with the federal Real ID Act of 2005 is marked with by a gold circle with a star cutout.
It is a valid ID for boarding aircraft, entering federal facilities where ID is required or entering nuclear power plants.
See the Real ID Act in Nevada for more information.
Licenses and ID cards will be marked “LIMITED TERM" when immigration documents are used to prove identity.

You must present all of the following:
 • Proof of Identity (one document) AND
 • If you have changed your name, Proof of All Name Change(s) AND
 • Proof of Social Security number AND
 • Proof of your Nevada residential address (two documents) AND
 • an Application for Driving Privileges or ID Card (DMV 002):

Documents must be valid originals or certified copies that were issued in the United States (except foreign passports). The DMV does not accept photocopies. Documents presented will be scanned and stored.

I went online, got a sublease form, filled it out with a friend's address, had him sign it, and presented it at the DMV. That was good enough for a standard driver license. A True ID would require a second proof of address (this info is available online). With the DL I registered the van (it was in a county that doesn't require inspections), changed the insurance (which was cheaper) and moved my bank account to the local branch.

yes AZ is asking for all the "Real ID" stuff. so you need proof of residency, original or copy of original county birth certificate(not a hospital birth certificate), a valid Social security card. there are other things that can get you around some of the stuff like a current military ID and such but as far as I know you must show proof of residency. highdesertranger

Even though I’m not a resident of AZ I do have a vehicle registered there. I had no problem at all with using the address of where I get my mail in Quartzsite. BCM mail and ship gives you an address for - Lordy I think it was nine bucks?

Anyway that worked fine and they didn’t bat an eye at the DMV in Parker

yeah Arizona doesn't care where you live for vehicle registration. I believe this has to do with the huge snow bird population.

also if anybody has a ATV/UTV or motorcycle that was built for off road use you now need an Arizona Off Highway sticker even if you have a sticker from a different state. also all these vehicles can be registered street legal in Arizona.

Thanks Cammulu, I'm looking for a way to register my vehicle outside of metro areas to avoid emissions tests, and Yes, I do love the environment, and reduce my vehicle insurance costs.
Anything else anybody?
I'm not on the road yet but plan to be within a couple of months.
Safe & fun traveling!!?

I believe one can still opt for a non REAL ID driver's license in Arizona. The one I have, obtained March 2018, has the words "NOT FOR FEDERAL IDENTIFICATION" printed on bold letters on the front.

Also, I did not have to prove residency in any way to get my driver's license or registration. The address I use is the residence of a friend's daughter who I have never met, much less lived with. Of course, I send my mail to a different location.

Lake Havasu City, my city of residence, is a very suitable home base for nomads. Plus, it has the cheapest insurance rates in the state.
