A couple more, taken 13 Oct @ the American Legion CG. It was a great place 2 spend summer, along Delores River & next to a Wildlife Refuge. Except for a couple weddings & the occasional weekender, I had the place 2 myself, (w/electric!) from 7 Jun - 15 Oct.
If Ur a member of the American Legion ...

It's mild summer weather in southern AZ and CA.

Ah, but dancing nekkid in the forest while the snow comes feathering down is just 1 of my talents - another is spoofing all the critters in said county whilst doing so.

Wait for 1st snow; do a sweat lodge; go out & dance.

If you camp in the Magic Circle you can dance nekkid in the desert as well. LOLOLOL

And be legal to boot!!!

Curious, is the American Legion CG free for members or ??

just wondering on it :)

nice pics, and it does look Brrrrr

Freelander: Quite a few yrs ago I was @ Hippie Hollow, a nude area of the lake near Austin. I got paid good $$ to put my clothes back on. Now, I just scare the bear outa hibernation.

Roamer: No, it isn't free ($40/mo). The electric hookup is 15 amp (or whatever household plug is) & while fan was nice days, it had to be turned off late afternoons. Elevation around 7000 or so. Mid-day dip in the River (Jul/Aug) was chill.

thanks for that info!!

$40/mo, nice cheap living in that environment! I would love just that :)

That's Y I went back this summer!
Close to San Juan, Uncomphagre, Weminuche NFs, Mesa Verde, Canyon of the Ancients & 4 Corners; Delores is 4-5 mi & Cortez 17 mi.
Makes for a nice, convenient base for exploration of the area or just chillin' down by the River.

What does it take to join the American Legion

Ye olde DD214
Am not sure if deployment to a combat zone is still a requirement for Legion membership, as opposed to the Auxiliary. I heard removing it was being discussed.

I’d have to dig deep for mine. I need to just get a pic and keep it on hand in my phone I guess.

That’s a real deal on camping!!!

LOL! I've got a great story about both my DD 214s, I got an early out and reenlisted with a piece of carbon paper and a single signature on my first one! My second one somebody else took care of! Got to love the military!
