Early April is time to go.

I'm not going anywhere. I haven't been this broke in years. Found out today that the commodity I bought with my tax free overseas pay will "probably" be taxed if I cash it in now.

Best to croak and let the kids get it tax free.

No, all's good when the retirement check hits the 28th. Mac and cheese for a couple of days won't hurt me... Just kidding but it's been a long month.

Shouldn't nix the April roll-out at all.

Just aim for a couple hundred miles north.

By early April (actually usually early March) most will be in the Cottonwood Sedona area until it warms up north of Flagstaff.

The Cottonwood/Sedona area is even better for camping than Ehrenberg IMO....lots to see and do, community center $5.00 day pass with pool, gym and showers, daybreak viewings of the hot air balloons and of course, spectalar scenery of the Red Rocks of Sedona. Oh, and a Walmart within a few minutes drive.

Don't let me make you jealous about Cottonwood...I won't even be there by that time.

If you're going to be jealous have at this plan - I leave the 3rd week of March from wherever I am at the time, to head to LA and start tracing Route 66 all the way to Chicago. When I get there I spend a couple of days with friends in Michigan and then back to Ontario. Once there, I have to get the cargo trailer ready for travelling and I'll be headed out across the Trans Canada for British Columbia.

I figure about 6 weeks from LA to Ontario and then at least another 6 weeks heading west across Canada, might be more depending on how many 'detours' I take on my way west.

And then next fall I get to come down the pacific coast all the way... :D

well, one more year to get this patch o dirt paid off, then the scoot, then the TT *sigh*
oh well, I'll always have a 'residence' unless Imminent Domain

I'll be right behind you, Gunny. I am planning to leave no later than May 1. Will spend most of summer in Oregon Coast/Northern California area so if you all find your way up around here let me know!

Love to meet you Gigi, I'm not sure how far my initial trip will be, sort of a shakedown cruise. I hope your plans go great....

Maybe see you in Quartsite or one of the gatherings. I like Wyoming but not so much in February.

Thanks for the invitation, be safe...Rob

I'm not liking it so much in February any more either...pretty over the snow and cold winters, hence the leaving part...and I currently live in a very beautiful place!

Dune Elliot when my health was good I looked for land in Wy and Mt. finally found 39 of the most beautiful acres I had hoped for. It was above the snow line with limited winter access but you could see the heavens from there at night.

I am not a hunter, I had my land posted and i had every creature in Montana pass by. Or every type I should say. When I got sick I tried to sell it but got few offers as it was way off grid and water was going to be an issue. I donated it to St.Judes and they sold it in two weeks. Maybe it helped some kid.

Hope to see you out there...

Hey Rob, I just found, and read all four pages of this thread.
#1. Sounds like most folks around you are dirt bags.
#2. You need to get out of there.
#3. Don't sell or give your trailer away.
#4. Move into your trailer and travel after you get fixed up.
I know this is all easy for me to say, but I hope you can do numbers 2 through 4.
