I just posted on another thread, heating with electricity is very inefficient. I went through the paper work and couldn't find any specs on power consumption. give us some numbers. highdesertranger
 
I took that 1400 watts a the cooking power. the watts required to run it will be more. anyway I am just guessing they don't actually say one way or the other. highdesertranger
 
1500W is usually the biggest draw for consumer "just plug it in" devices.

I use a propane version, makes great whole turkeys, baby back ribs, brisket etc.

No exactly portable for van dwelling though.
 
They are a heating element and a fan. They are rated to use 1400 watts. About the same as a toaster. That is well over 100 amps from the battery. But much longer than it takes to make toast.
