Do you "drive your house" or "sleep in your vehicle"?

In other words, do you consider your vehicle primarily a means of transportation that you also sleep/live in?
Or is it primarily a mobile residence, your home that can move about?

What type of vehicle?
Do you drive it daily?  Weekly?  Less?
Do you live in it full time or do you have a S&B residence?

Personally, I'm still chained to the job and the S&B (hopefully not for long), so my minivan is my daily driver and road trip/camping vehicle.  I enjoy driving and often go for a random drive on a day off just for the hell of it.  I have no idea if that's something I'd still want to do if I was living "out there":  maybe I'd just be moving camp more often, or maybe being out and walking in nature would replace the road trip.
I also have a small Class C motorhome that is not hard to drive but not fun either.  I consider it a moveable house and not something I want to drive every day.

I'm curious how different people live on the road, and how they feel about their rigs.  Care to share your thoughts?

All my vehicles have morphed back and forth as the need arises

Having been a full-timer for three years, there's no difference between the two outlooks for me. My 2007 Chevy van is simultaneously my home and vehicle. But since my main reason for living this way is to travel, then perhaps "vehicle" is more important.

When retirement was on the horizon, I started researching places I could live. I eventually realized I didn't want to settle down in one spot. I had done that my whole life. I wanted to wander, and a van fit my needs/wants better than an RV. I call the van the Rolling Steel Tent because I see myself as camping along the way, not setting up residence somewhere.

at this point my vehicle is definitely my vehicle, as I have a small RV I live in, which i consider my house
Also, a Ranger with a cap would suck to fulltime in, at least any commercial cap

When I'm on the east coast, in the summer, I have a sweet little pontiac vibe I use as a daily driver. This summer and last summer I didn't live in my van because I'm helping to keep my mom safe while she can still live at home and personal health reasons (major surgery)

In the winter, in the SW, my van is my home and daily driver. Sometimes, when I am at my son's and dog sitting I stay in the house. And also, last winter I had another major surgery and complications that forced me to stay in the house. I prefer my van.

When I am in the SW, I try to park for a week without moving. Because I don't have solar (yet) I have to get ice at least once a week,

My wife and I started out in an older motor home and towed a Honda civic traveled across the country. While traveling it was fine but after a while we tended to stay in one place for long periods of time and motor homes don't sit well. We then parked the motor home permanently and fixed up an old
Grand Wagoneer and small camper trailer to travel in. The price of gas got to a point we couldn't afford to travel and up keep on a poorly built camper, to much work. Currently we have built a small light weight camper that will go on an aluminum utility trailer to be pulled by a 4x4 Toyota Tacoma. Gas mileage suffers when towing but we can go almost anywhere and park the camper while getting good gas mileage. We use a 10'x14' Kodiac tent for more living space when doing a week or more stay and weather permits.

I'm not a full timer, more of a road tripper, so I sleep in my vehicle when I'm on vacation. For day to day life, I've got a sticks and brick (stucco actually) that I live in.

My van is my home without a permanent foundation. ::) l live and travel in it full time and everything I own is in it.. no other storage locker or home base, just wherever I park.  Van is a 2016 Ford Transit.

Bob, do you generally park in one spot for a while, or do you move about or make supply runs frequently?  What kind of mpg do you get, if you don't mind me asking?

Lots of variables in answering your questions.  Fishing is my main interest...good fishing longer stay, bad fishing shorter stay.  I only carry a weeks worth of food and if I see a grocery store in route, I'll stop and top off.  My main plan is to have no plan.  I might go to bed thinking I'm staying only to wake up and leave...and if I see or hear of something different in route I'll stop there.  How long?  No idea ::) Right now I'm in WV..planning on fishing the Ohio River in the morning. Other ideas right now... New River WV, Saginaw River MI, or head to next weekends NASCAR race.  Then again may do none of them as get highjacked by a different spot.

As far as mileage 16.5 non interstate stop and go, 19 on interstate, non mountainous.

Truck I use to travel to spots to live. No permanent residence

Our van is our home and contains all we own.
We usually stay in one area and move around every few weeks. We make a run for supplies weekly and to trade in my empty oxygen bottles.
Sometimes we binge travel and sometimes just kick back somewhere we like for a while. Following good weather is important to us.
