Do go travel solo or with friend(s)?
Traveling with buddies is a lot more fun, and it has practical advantages as well.

So why doesn't everybody do it, then? Because they are stuck worshiping the "false idol" of channel-surfing-with-gasoline.

being somewhat antisocial swimming into the current and easily bored helps.

I avoid traveling with friends because I don't want to end up hating them. Meet up with them? Sure. Camp with them? Sure. But caravanning? It's like herding cats to me. It drives me nuts.

Me too! Never more stressed than trying to keep track of someone leading OR following me!
Gimme an address or coordinates and I'll meet ya there......maybe.

Those last 3 posts sum it up for me.

Not sure what this means, do you mean like watching TV with a generator or just driving and checking out what's around too look at? Or maybe something else entirely? I'm kinda slow sometimes(most times).

Your response is really what I meant to say.  Thanks.

Following or leading by rearview mirror is a PITA.

However, if you are going quite a distance, an evening meet up point might be helpful should you have a breakdown on the way.

I too am a huge fan of making the journey alone but I do love being with friends at the destination. Also I park an inconvenient distance away to keep people from just dropping by.

Either way works for me as long as we're stopping at the casino tonight.
Speaking of which, anyone heading South from Washington to Ehrenberg before Thanksgiving? I'd like to try it out this year and would like someone to follow or lead down the 5 to Bakersfield then East to Ehrenberg. I usually travel 5 to 6 hours a day then hit the casino.

I have plenty of room to put someone up the night or two before departure (couple of acres of rocked drive and lot) and am 4 miles from the Mt St Helens tourist center.
