This is a demonstration recording the sound of light.
The guy uses a battery not AC power.
In the comments it was said that if it was on AC then the static would be like the fluorescent light sounds.
Also in the comments was a link to a more official presentation.
Seems they're working on using LEDs to expand the internet.
