Cork flooring

Good morning everyone.  I would like to know if anyone has used cork flooring in their van?  How did it hold up?  What about keeping it clean?  I live in the DMV (DC/Maryland/Virginia) area where there is heat and high humidity in the summer.  I was wondering how does it hold up in Maryland summers?  I also have dogs.  Any input would be most helpful.

i have yet to try cork but i'm also curious about it- i know it is hydrophobic so it should repel water, making it easy to clean. i imagine using a nontoxic sealant would help too.

A dog's claws will soon tear up cork flooring. You need something more durable than cork.

I had cork on my kitchen floor in North Carolina (DelMarVa South, you might say). I used cork tiles and installed it myself. The tiles had some type of plastic-ish coating. It wore very well. The only problem was I didn't get it stuck down very well in some places. The adhesive was like contact cement -- coat the floor, coat the tile, wait for both to reach the proper degree of tackiness, then very carefully position it and press it down. If I were to do it again, I'd have a pro install it.

We have cork flooring in our kitchen and it has held up very well and is very forgiving. We installed it about five years ago, no dogs now, but it was not an issue with their claws tearing up the cork when we had them. Plus, cork is warm, even in winter, not like a cold laminate floor or tile, and when i drop the wine glasses they mostly survive. Cheers
