It occured to me after installing the AC unit, the drip water falls to the ground from humid air the AC converts appears clean, and could be used as general use water (I wouldn't drink it).

Has anyone re-purpose the otherwise re-evaporated water from their AC unit? Has anyone drank this water? Has anyone ran a tube from the drip source to their freshwater tank.

California has a drought and I pondered this as a way to save water.

If you're condensing water from the air, would it be mineral free?

I'm wondering if it would be pure enough to use in batteries instead of purchasing distilled water?

Regards
John

It is pure distilled water contaminated with dust, chemicals, bugs, bird poop, bug poop, what ever is in the air or on the coils.

run it through a filter before you drink it. you would be surprised how fast those condensation catch pans get disgusting. using it to water your landscaping would be fine, but I don't think you have landscaping. highdesertranger
