I am considering purchasing a class b rv and looking for advice. Unit 1 is a Pleasure Way Excel with Ford drivetrain, 5.4l v8 with 40000 miles. Unit 2 is a Gulfstream Vista Cruiser G26 with Mercedes Benz drivetrain, 2.7l 5cyl. turbo diesel with 60000 miles. They are about the same age, and in great condition. Any advice or preference or experience with either. Thanks Don

I would choose the Pleasure Way. They hold their value, and have a good reputation and my experience with the Ford drivetrain was excellent. Gulfstream won't be the "quality" of build like the Pleasure Way. The only game changer might be the floor plan for me, but I would lean heavily still toward the Pleasure Way.

It's a bit more of a challenge to get maintenance work on a diesel engine than a gas engine.

Don,

Check your PM's.  My Pleasure Way is for sale.

Pleasure Way... BTW ...Have you compared the hours on the generators? Before you buy either one be sure to drive it about 30 miles on highway in city. Also is a good idea during your test drive after to check the codes on the computers. Make sure you inspect every inch of every sealed edge, roof seams, and underneath.

Just choose the one you like. With both good reputation, check the following things, includes the tires, engines, batteries, brakes, macerator pump, shocks, propane sensor etc., and also do have a try driving. Thanks!
