My son lost his Chromebook last school year after just a week of owning it, so we replaced it after he searched "everywhere".  I got an email from the school telling me they found it last week.

I picked it up from school, charged it and reset it to factory defaults.  I'm surprised by how great this product is for many of the things I use my iPad.  It's light, small but not too small, okay keyboard, and the battery lasts forever (9hrs).  I think this cost around $150 new.  Lenovo n22.

Yes, cheap and tough.

And many can be turned into a fully functional Linux desktop if you're so inclined, may need more RAM and a bigger HDD, but some can't be upgraded.

I really like my Chromebook for its simplicity, since I am not a computer-type person. It takes care of virus protection which is a big help and cleans its own self up. I just replaced the battery in mine after 2 or 3 years of use. I use it extensively, BUT it has some limits and quirks for some uses, so one would do well to understand that before purchasing one. I have a Toshiba.

And actually the reverse is true also, you can bring an old desktop or laptop up from the dead with Chrome OS.

There are several steps involved, but the end results are pretty good.

The best part is, its free!
