Well I got a 2008 chevy express and the ac off heat sensor light came on.i was having my oil changed anyway so I asked the fellow if he would put on his computer. At first said he could only do it if I had fixed there. (Really!) Then he checked anyway and said it was a temastat sensor or a coolant sensor. So I asked him if he could give me a price on doing that. The others fellows were quiet busy at this time and he said he would have them call me with a price. I said okay. Went home started checking prices on the part. Come up with max price of 30 $ . Well fellow calls me back and says they would do it for 146 $ and tax. I thanked him and told him I would get back to him later. Again I went on you to see what exactly it could be that costs so much. Well to my dismay not only could it be a coolant sensor but it could also be the wires to the sensor or the temperature sensor or valve may be stuck or bad. Now it looked pretty easy to change the coolant sensor but the wires I don't think I can handle and or temperature sensor. I was wondering if any of you had any thoughts about an inexperienced person working on a van.
