I bought a Class B, 2011 PleasureWay Excel TS. Ford E-350, 5.4L V8. 23,600 miles on the odometer. Remember the Alka Seltzer ad from years ago? "I can't believe I ate the whole thing."
Four years ago (has it been that long?), I sold everything, moved into my E-150 and bummed around. Until my grandson was born. Bought a 15' TT, parked it in an RV park near baby, spent six months as his full time caregiver. When I went back on the road in my van, I missed him so much I returned home. Traded up to a 31' fifth wheel, parked in same RV park, sold my van and bought a minivan to carry kids, and have been very involved with baby (now three yrs old) and now his little brother, too. I have become very attached to these two little boys. When they see me, I have to go down on my knees because they run (the littlest toddles) to me with huge smiles on their little faces, yelling "Gramma! Gramma!", throw their little arms around me, and my old scarred heart fills with joy.
Two months ago, their mother (my daughter), accepted a job in California. 1,750 miles away. She hopes to return here in a couple of years. (I will not cry, I will not cry, I will not cry. Oh shit, I'm crying. I hate sissies!). I cannot afford Cali, even though she has offered to subsidize my moving there.
So I now have two RV's, the fiver which will be my home base in Texas, and the PleasureWay class B, which will take me to Cali and my babies! The next two weeks, I will be helping them get moved and getting the B ready to go. Even though my heart is breaking at their leaving, I am also excited with the new adventures waiting for me out there.
This purchase was a tough decision! It made a big dent in my savings and a loan (!!), which I haven't had in years. But you know how things happen...two weeks after I signed everything, out of the blue, my mother called and said she is sending all us kids a check, enough to almost replace what I had spent on the big down payment! It was meant to be? A sign?
Lol! My little soul mate loves the new RV! He loves "projects", so last week he helped me cut the shelf liners, we measured ("You hold that end of the tape meaure. OK, Gramma!") I drew the lines, and he used the grown up scissors ("I'll be careful, Gramma, i can get a bad owwie!") and next week we will do the reflectix for the windows.
Who knows what's just around the corner in this life? Just when I think I have it all figured out, bam! Everything changes! And away we go!
Sancho!

My armor! My sword!
More Misadventures!
Adventures, old friend!
