I was wondering if you can charge batteries like the Goal Zero yeti 400 or 1250 off an electric car charging station. I would want to do solar, but as a backup or when I would need a lot of ac or heat.

Does anyone do that on this forum? How long would it take to charge a 400 or 1250?

Probably not because of connectors and battery chemistries.

There is a lot of back and forth "hand shaking" before the station will charge a EV. You would have to get around that and have some way to deal with the high voltage.

Would be a very interesting project for an engineering type, maybe even a future product.

But I can see conflicts arising from citizens who actually need the charge for propulsion **now**, very limited facilities outside big cities now.

So I would hope "house chargers" piggybacking off the infrastructure would use it during off-peak times.
