Hi,

So I recently resigned from a preshool director/teaching position. I heard someone mention here that there are a lot of campgrounds that have activities for children. I was wondering if anyone knows of specific locations that I might inquire if they need some help. I have not seen any positions on the work camping websites that involve working with children so if anyone can give me some leads I would be very grateful.

I can't wait to get started on my new life!

Just call the campgrounds in an area you will be in directly and inquire.
The bigger ones are the more likely places with these kind of jobs.

One point to remember ....many usually hire for a season at the end of the last season when they find out who will be coming back.

(There is such a thing as no shows or some not liking the job and leaving before the season ends so a call will catch those as well as find out when they will be hiring.)

This is general advice . These places seem to have as many different ways of doing business as there are places !
Pay/compensation packages vary as well .
Ask , ask , ask. And leave your contact info.........

Not "workamper" jobs per se; ... but ALL of the Jellystone campgrounds and probably 99% of the KOA campgrounds have those type activities so you could contact any/all near where you're located (or want to be located) or their parent corporate offices to see what/if they have available and/or suggestions how to proceed ...

I was rec director at two different KOA campgrounds for a total of four seasons before I moved into working in the store/office. Seasons here in PA run April through October. Many of the KOA workampers I've met were former teachers, seems to be a good "retirement" job for those that enjoy children. Join the KOA workamper group and you'll get first dibs on jobs.. It costs $35 a year but once you get that first job, you'll get dozens of offers to choose from all over the country. I choose to stay at one location but most go south or west for winter. We need help here but it would be a store position as another woman took over my rec job but lots of kids for sure.

Thanks decodancer.  How many hours per week?  Is there a salary or are these volunteer  positions for a free site?
