It's a lot easier for my rickety old bones to get into than getting on the bike. Trying to find a club around here to ride a little with. So far I've ridden it about 50 feet.

That is so cool. I've driven a Razr and loved it, but this looks like it is really well balanced for one-rider safety. I did not see accessories to make it street legal in most places...or does it come with the basic requirements for street legal as well as off-road??

What fun (and gas savings) to drive this to town for supplies while leaving the main rig at camp!

It does not have turn signals but I found some on ebay that might work. Leaving my RV at the area I set up was the reason for buying it. I am starting to look for some land in Az. I am thinking of saying "Adios" to Texas.

It's smaller than a RZR both width and length. See you at RTR...

I got my motorcycle license when I was 14, it's sad to come to the realization that that part of my life is over. But it's better than the alternative.

Made me sad too, I had to spend some time adjusting to my new reality and make peace with it.

I don't know what ADV is but look forward to meeting you when you get out and about. I hope your asthma gets better, I read your other thread.

I hope you adjust. I and my Buddy Spirit have to right now (95 GS1100 + Ural sidecar) because of spine surgery a couple months ago. 
But, I am finding much peace of mind not leaving the truck / slide in camper on BLM and National Forests lands while we go ride. There has been a lot of thefts, trucks checking us out a couple times on the hour, came across two burning meth labs in Snowy Range Pass (WY). As we are ready to drive around in about 10 minutes nothing is left at camp but a $5 chair. We can ride all winter long in Big Bend TX. This is BTW all over as we go up and down the mainly West Coast. Enjoy your new ride.

beemerchef, I truly enjoyed checking your two sites out. Beautiful photography. I bought a fancy camera and some high dollar lenses but I am pretty sure the talent is not there. 

Big Bend is one of my favorite destinations. I will have to dig up a picture of  two friends going up Guadalupe Peak in, or at least with, their wheelchairs. Good times. I don't know the rules they have for ATV's yet, probably outlawed.

Thank you! Just a hobby and same with videos on YouTube. The total of Big Bend is about 3 million acres. 900,000 is the National Park. 300,000 is the State Park. The rest is Terlingua Ranch were I bought 20 acres 9 years ago for $100 an acre. We have 1100 miles of unpaved roads which ATV is fine but at some point one has to cross 118. There is only 2 deputy sheriffs. We stay in during Spring break and the Chili Cook Off! It would be so so driving one! Too hot in the summer, reason we are only there in the winter months. Let me know if you ever come down.

Hey beemerchef, glad to see you checking in here. My boys always say if I get to old or loose my sense of balance so I cant ride my KLR I'll have to get a sidecar like you. I'm hope that's still years away. I've been following your progress on your web site and Facebook. Glad to see the surgeries haven't kept you from wandering with Spirit.

And Gunny, that side by side does look like fun. I hope to check it out at next winter's RTR.

Masterplumber Well, the sidecar is a convenience being on the road full-time camping with Spirit. A compromise I 100% accepted (pack more stuff too!) and I never look back at the 47 years on two wheels. That said, my heart always misses a beat when a two wheeler passes me on the twisties! 
Now a truck / slide in camper! No choice because of the surgery. I must say I am falling in lust with it! Too comfy, convenient, no worries about setting up between point A and point B, you name it. Fridge, freezer, (lived without those for 8 years!). This might just be the way we move on North and South from now on as the sidecar riding can be had the other six months in and around Big Bend TX in winter months. Everything is a compromise! This beats staying in Big Bend enduring 115 degrees in the shade. Stay well. Thanks.

I haven't been to the RTR but from what I've read it seems a lot like BYOB or Wetfest... without as much alcohol, and with more educational offerings to help the newer folks.
