Bored on BLM?

We've spent several months in a series of small and medium sized cities with our dog. He stays in the shade, on a leash, with his water bowl outside near the entrance to the museum, exhibit, restaurant... we go into.

We take turns checking on him. Our dog is 16 and will sit and stay for who knows how long and he enjoys watching people so we're lucky. He also has a tag on his collar with our cell phone number on it.

I've thought about this too. Would I be bored? Well, possibly sometimes. But as it is now, I like to just sit and watch nature for hours, go on walks, bike, read, paint...so I think I'll be good. My biggest fear is loneliness. Boredom I can cure pretty easily with an activity, but loneliness is a bit harder to have a quick fix for, besides having my cat.

Boredom and loneliness are often intertwined. Having company often relieves the boredom and loneliness is often triggered by boredom. But there is nothing to fear about being lonely on BLM land, there are thousands of people around. Just be approachable and also do some approaching. It will all sort itself out. But it does sometimes take a while to get it all rolling.  You could start by reaching out to other people who like to paint that live near where you hope to spend a few months. Arizona is full of snow birds who roam around the countryside doing Plein Air Painting. If you take the first step and reach out then loneliness won't become an issue. https://arizonapleinair.com/

Finding out what is outside your door would be one of my things to do...plant identification, recognizing trees by their outline, foraging books, birds etc. You could make it a game with your S/O or just yourself and if you see something unknown, research what it is...you would always be learning something and keeping your mind active.
Awesome, thank you
