Sorry about the short notice. And no, I didn't research it further. Feel free.

I thought someone might be in the area looking for something to do

"BLM needs your help! The Yuma Field Office is inviting volunteers to help plant 500 mesquite trees in an ongoing restoration project in Betty’s Kitchen Restoration Area TOMORROW morning, February 21, starting at 8 a.m. until noon. The 1,100-acre project, approximately eight miles northeast of Yuma, was started in 2008 and continues as invasive species are removed and native riparian habitat is restored.

You don't need to sign up ahead of time. Please bring plenty of water, a snack, sunscreen, hats, long pants, closed-toed shoes or boots, gloves and your enthusiasm for a great cause!

Directions: From downtown Yuma, take U.S. Highway 95 east, turn left on Avenue 7E, and continue on the paved road for seven miles until the road turns into a dirt road. Make the first left onto Betty’s Kitchen and then the first right to where the sprinklers are set up. Please park on the road shoulder. Overflow parking and restrooms are available in the Betty’s Kitchen Watchable Wildlife Area, adjacent to the planting location."
