This time of year you could run into some nasty winter weather taking the best direct route.

If it were me I would take I 95 south to I 85 (Richmond, Va)
Then I 85 to I 65 (Montgomery, Ala)
Then I 65 to I 10 (Mobile, Ala)

I 10 takes you to Q but you’ll want to take the I 12 New Orleans by pass.

EDiT; alternative to above would be to exit I85 at Atlanta Ga and take I 20. I 20 intersects I 10 SW of Pecos Tx. This route is still far enuff north where you still could run into some weather.

OR:
Take I 95 south to I 10 at J-Ville Fla and take I10 to Q.
Yes neither route is the most direct but you’ll be driving in much nicer weather this time of year.
