I think Rob is trying to figure a way to get both his ATV and a generator in the back of his truck.

Rob, I don't think that's going to be compatible with pulling a trailer.  I'm guessing it's going to stick back far enough that the trailer won't be able to turn freely.  I could be wrong.  Would you be able to tow your trailer with the tailgate down?

My truck came from the factory with one, I hated it so pitched after the first week. Unless yours has a quick release and you have a place to put it when it's not in use, they are in the way whenever you want to access the bed.

I think I'll have to switch ends and check on a front hitch and carrier. Or sell the ATV.

Hook up your trailer open your tailgate and I think The answer will be OBVIOUS.  Then imagine turning  turning a corner.  I'm pretty sure your tailgate is going to hit the trailer tongue jack.
