rokguy
Sounds like you're covered whether you're on land or sea!
Cheers,
Richard

were is the best place buy battery's. I need agm is battery plus stores any good for battery's

travlin man you have to shop locally for batteries. shipping will kill you. the specific gravity of lead is 11 something, this means it is 11 times heavier than water. highdesertranger

travlin man,

I haven't actually purchased any batteries yet so maybe someone here that has can give you that info.

What I have done is to check online with Trojan, and Crown, and any other name brand battery and find out the types and sizes that I'm looking for and then get the website or phone number from the company's distributors. I also went to as many online solar companies to see what they had to offer.

One thing to keep in mind is that some stores will give you two different prices, one for when you do a core exchange and another higher price if you have nothing to exchange.

Hope this helped some.
Cheers.
Richard

Sears Automotive stores are located everywhere. They usually have lots of different types of batteries in stock. As someone else mentioned, it's probably better to buy at a local store versus the huge shipping cost.

Best is to find somewhere that moves a lot of batteries.

You don't want to buy flooded batteries that have been sitting on the shelf for 3 months. Most stores wont bother to recharge them( self discharge is upto 15% per month at 75f), and such batteries are partially sulfated before being put into use.

Batteries on clearance sales are likely old partially sulfated stock with only a percentage of their original intended capacity.

A fresh batch is very desirable.

AGM's self discharge less and are more acceptable at a few months old.

Yesterday I bought a 4D battery at "Tractor supply" they weigh 138 Lbs---total cost was $157.49 including Core charge..

sparky1,in s.va.
