Is it at all dangerous to have batteries, like that of Goal Zero, in a hot vehicle? I'm in Georgia so it can get pretty hot, and humid, in summer

Their specs give 32º - 104ºF operating range.  They don't list a storage spec.  Contact them and ask.

No, but it does shorten their lifetime.

And for lead banks, charge sources should have temp sensing and adjust voltage setpoints automatically to compensate for changes in temperature.

I've often thought of this topic. I live in AZ and it does get pretty hot in the van during the day and that is where my house battery is stored. There's not much I can do about it for now. But I do know that batteries charge at different voltages at different temperatures. My MPPT controller does have a temperature compensation so that if will change the voltage depending on the temperature of the battery. In the end I think John61CT is right. The heat will most likely shorten that battery life somewhat.

Lead batteries should be stored full.   Goal Zero are lithium and should be stored at less than 80% full.   If the temperature is high, the state of charge should be lower.
