Facebook just reminded me that I took this pic 4 years ago...I can't remember the exact location.  One of these days, I'll check it for accuracy :)

Bad Route Road, is Exit 192 off I-94 in Montana...

That's 192 miles east of Billings between Terry & Glendive.

Here is one from the middle of nowhere CA. Between Bakersfield and the ocean.

And Glendive is the city with Makoshika State Park just south of it. The name means "bad earth" yet it is a wonderful park full of hoodoos and sculpted rock. The road name may well relate to the park.

Of course, especially in eastern MT, there are many reasons for a road with that name. LOL... kidding since MT is my favorite state. I even love most all of the eastern part.

oh boy oh boy,  I got a pic

Nevada State Rt. 375,  also known as the Extraterrestrial Highway (hey, it's on the Nevada map that way, too).

Its open range around there until you get near Area 51.  LOL

Oh yeah, we know that stretch. Got a shot of that sign too...somewhere.
Hate seeing livestock on the road, but much of our land is open range.

Spent some good times around Beatty.

Stopped at there once asked for advice on local camping spot, they gave me directions to an a great spot so secluded no other vehicles drove by in 2 days! Careful on 375 might see weird things, I saw commercial airplane coming in for landing on the other side of mountain range and an Air Force bus come over the range with all the windows painted black so the passengers couldn't see out. A'LE'INN has rv spots with hookups and has free camping if you don't need power.

I'm just off US95 South of Area 51. I opened the Google Map on my Android and entered Area 51. It gives me directions on a bunch of "restricted access" roads to get to Groom Lake. I'll go the long way round to Rachel, thank you.

yeah Wayne trust me you won't get in. the commercial jet is for commuters out of vegas who work there, same with the buses. the windows are dark tinted so the public can't see in, not so the passengers can't see out. I have driven right up to the gate before and the perimeter in several locations as soon as you get close to the perimeter security lets themselves be seen. the perimeter is secured with all kinds of funny looking electronic devices. highdesertranger
